Mason Thomas Law has supported the husband-and-wife team behind a new £500,000 indoor padel centre at Egstow Park in Clay Cross, Derbyshire, with the commercial lease arrangements for their first business venture.

Cross Padel is the first business venture for husband and wife team Oliver and Jenny Davies. The new padel facility features five panoramic glass courts with run-off areas, alongside a café bar and changing facilities.
The couple have taken a 10-year lease on the unit and overseen its transformation into a purpose-built sports and leisure facility. A mezzanine within the building is also home to Mood, a Reformer Pilates studio, creating an additional fitness offering at the venue.
Following a recommendation by the building’s landlord, Roe Developments, Mason Thomas Law supported Oliver with the negotiations for the main lease and an additional sublease for the Pilates studio.
Oliver said: “I had been trying to manage the process myself, but once Mason Thomas Law became involved, the legal aspects of the commercial lease started to make sense, and everything began moving forward.
“It is the first commercial property I have leased, and the arrangements were more complicated because they included a sublet. Cathy Mason was extremely supportive. She took control of the legal process and helped us get everything over the line.
