Thousands of Covid-enforced wedding cancellations didn’t deter Mason Thomas Law’s client, Kate Lawley from forging ahead and making her dream of owning a luxury wedding venue a reality.
Two and a half years after beginning her journey to own and run one of Lincolnshire’s top country house wedding destinations – Wootton Hall, Kate has achieved her dream…with a bit of help from Mason Thomas Law.
It was a dream that began pre-Covid. In September 2019 Mason Thomas Law was assisting Kate in her negotiations to purchase the Grade II-listed Wootton Hall in Barton-upon-Humber. Then lockdown hit.
Kate was so committed to her dream that she chose to lease the venue from the owners and wait out the pandemic until commercial lenders were active in the market again. Wootton Hall became Kate’s home, moving into it with her husband and young daughter in the meantime.
During this time, Kate used lockdown to her advantage and began the transformation of the property. Wootton Hall now boasts newly refurbished grand hall, drawing room, sitting room, dining room, kitchen breakfast room, games room, 6 bedrooms as well as, two self-contained apartments, three cottages and former stables in the grounds.
Eventually, with finance secured, the purchase of the beautiful 18th century Hall was completed in January 2022, and Mason Thomas Law was proud to work with Kate every step of the way

Following its transformation, Wootton Hall can now cater for up to 150 wedding guests. It also boasts its very own private 9-hole golf course, luxury bridal wing as well as separate accommodation in the grounds for wedding guests.
